PMSCS Training

Attendance is not competence.

Every course is built around a clear standard and an honest assessment. Learners leave able to do the job, and employers keep records that show it.

Small groups. Real scenarios.
Honest assessment.

Specialist programme

Competence in Workplace Drugs and Alcohol Testing

For organisations that test their own workforce. Testers are trained, assessed separately on alcohol and drug testing, and only then put forward for authorisation by the employer.

Regulated qualifications

Recognised nationally. Checked independently.

The HSE no longer approves first aid training providers, so employers must check that the training they buy is sound. A regulated qualification gives you that assurance, because independent bodies stand behind every regulated certificate your learners receive.

Ofqual

The government regulator for qualifications in England. It regulates the awarding organisation and its standards.

First Aid Awards (FAA)

The Ofqual-regulated awarding organisation that sets the qualification, quality-assures delivery and awards the certificate.

NUCO Training

An FAA approved centre that registers learners and issues certificates. PMSCS delivers its regulated courses through NUCO.

PMSCS

Delivers and assesses the course at your premises or a venue you choose, to the FAA standard, with records you can show an auditor or the HSE.

The instructor behind the certificate

Qualified, re-qualified and checked

  1. 1

    Qualified to teach

Philip completed the NUCO first aid instructor course required before anyone can deliver a regulated course, gaining the Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET) as part of it.

  2. 2

    Re-qualified every three years

Instructor status is renewed with NUCO every three years, so teaching stays in line with current guidance.

  3. 3

    Peer-checked in between

Between re-qualifications, Philip's delivery and assessment are observed and checked by another qualified internal quality assurer.

  4. 4

    Trusted to check others

Philip is himself an internal quality assurer, observing and quality-assuring other first aid instructors.

Regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF). Scottish versions sit on the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF).

Regulated qualifications are delivered through NUCO and awarded by First Aid Awards (FAA) on the RQF. PMSCS programmes are designed and assessed by PMSCS. Scottish (SCQF) versions of the first aid qualifications are also available. Group sizes are the maximum per course.
